We know that it takes a ‘village’ and that this initiative can only be successful with your help! This is a grassroots initiative in that we know exactly where our time, energy and efforts are going and who it will affect.

We are small initiative, but we have BIG ideas and goals. Many times it can seem that our efforts and hard earned dollars get lost when it goes to a big charity. While we do need those charities too, it’s the smaller initiatives where you will see WHO you are helping.

Every share, donation and moment of your time will directly affect the women of eKhaya eKasi and the people they care for as we aim to implement our pilot project there in November 2013.

We wholeheartedly believe in the Ubuntu philsophy which is a beautiful word in the Xhosa language that in summary means “I am what I am because of who we all are.” Ubuntu speaks of the interconnectedness of all people. It is caring, respect, love, community, humanity, compassion, openness and sharing to name a few adjectives that describe the essence of the word.

We invite you to join us in making a difference in the lives of women and children in Khayelitsha, South Africa.

Here’s how YOU can HELP TODAY:
  1. Join on our Facebook page  and share it with your friends and family on Facebook
  2. If you are on twitter, connect with us there @thoawproject and let others know.
  3. If you or someone you know has an iPhone 3gs, 4 or 4s you no longer need and it is in good working condition, please consider donating your used iPhone to THOAW. It will go eKhaya eKasi for use by one of the participants.
